Caramelized Onion Hummus
Have you ever wondered how easy is to make hummus?
Hummus is nutritious, very easy to make and full of plant-based proteins. Just add your favourite ingredients, blend and enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 onion, finely diced
1 tsp of honey
2 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
800g of chickpeas ( tins or cooked), drained and rinsed
2 tbsp of lime juice
8 tbs of water
1 tsp of salt ( add more if you like)
pepper to taste
1 tbs of Tahini ( optionally, contains sesame )
If you like super creamy hummus, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil to it.
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
Peel and finely dice the onion, mix with the honey and bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
Put chickpeas and garlic into a food processor or blender with all of the ingredients until you get a creamy mixture.
Hummus goes great on crackers, bread and crunchy veg. Refrigerate any leftovers for up to a week.
